Community Development Manager manages the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Ensures company visibility is established in the area and promotes relationships with groups, agencies, and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Manager evaluates the current and future credit needs of the community and develops a strong understanding of the local issues and needs. Actively monitors public programs that support community development initiatives. Additionally, Community Development Manager initiates policy changes or enhancements to ensure compliance with Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and other regulations. Makes recommendations to expand and develop lending programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Community Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Community Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Part-time (approx. 28 hour/week) Manager needed to work as part of Community Education team, hiring, scheduling, and managing non-credit courses in the following topics: cooking, sports, wine and spirits, music, gardening,, and notary training.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education or other equivalent experience and interest in relevant subject areas of cooking, sports, music, wine and spirits, gardening, and notary courses. Direct experience in all of these subject areas not required, but strong emphasis is placed on cooking and wine and spirits, as these are essential components of non-credit Community Education programs. Familiarity with one or more subject areas other than cooking preferred. Working computer knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
