Community Development Representative implements the economic development lending activities to support or subsidize improvements in the community. Establishes and maintains relationships with groups and organizations in the community to identify lending and other business development opportunities. Being a Community Development Representative develops an understanding of public programs and community needs to ensure effective community outreach and support development. Represents the institution within the community and is a resource for information about products and services that are available. Additionally, Community Development Representative adheres to all operational procedures and complies with Community Reinvestment Act and other regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Community Development Representative occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Position Overview

    Primary Purpose of Position
    In collaboration with an Extension Specialist, assists in the development, implementation, and management of research based educational programs that meet the needs of limited-resource and socially-disadvantaged audiences, consistent with the philosophy, policy and overall mission, goals and educational objectives of North Carolina A&T Cooperative Extension. Assists with on-going program evaluation and recommends program revisions based on data and evolving needs of the audience served. Independently designs and implements programs as assigned. This position works specifically to support a variety of CRD programs targeting adults and youth limited-resource communities.
    Primary Function of Organizational Unit
    Cooperative Extension at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is an educational outreach organization within the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. Cooperative Extension at N.C. A&T provides researched-based educational information, programming and technical assistance to limited-resource audiences that address a diverse range of issues in four programmatic areas - Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, Community and Rural Development, and 4-H Youth Development. Together with its partners - North Carolina State University Extension, U.S. Department of Agriculture, state and county governments, a dynamic and resourceful system is formed. In addition to campus operations, Cooperative Extension has professionally staffed offices in almost half of the 100 counties in North Carolina and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
    Minimum Requirements
    * Master's degree in education, community development, regional and urban planning, rural sociology or other closely related field.
    * Experience in the design and development of educational programs delivered in community based settings.
    * Demonstrated ability to communicate, interact and collaborate with colleagues and community partners.
    * Computer literacy (proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Office, etc.; experience with statistical analysis software preferred)
    * Master's degree in education, community development, regional and urban planning, rural sociology or other closely related field.
