This is a hybrid position; 60% at home and 40% at the office.

The Community Engagement Specialist will primarily be responsible for engaging the local community partners, and church and faith-based organizations within a specific designated geographic area to identify and develop resources for individuals and families within the community. This individual is also responsible for community engagement, recruitment, and the coordination and education of volunteers and community partners.
This position is expected to perform effectively with moderate to independent supervision, while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cultivate existing church/faith-based partnerships;
- Identify and develop relationships with new churches/faith-based organizations in the area;
- Assist in developing collaborative efforts between church/faith-based partners and Bethany;
- Arrange for and schedule information meetings at churches/faith- based/community organizations to build a network of awareness of the needs of the community and resources and support that the church and community can provide;
- Build relationships within local churches/faith communities and community organizations and develop co-sponsorships to support individuals and families;
- Track and report all contacts in the system;
- Develop annual goal of an identified number of faith and community organizations to develop relationships with to support the community;
- Develop collaborative efforts with businesses, civic organizations, and other interest groups in the community;
- Direct efforts to strengthen Bethany’s relationship with community partners by maintaining professional relationships with them and providing regular updates on the need of the community;
- Update the database of church and community partners and track activity on the database;
- Provide monthly reports on partner activities;
- Initiate community projects including but not limited to identifying community events that agency can participate in and promoting program information to community partners;
- Participate in community activities that will help enhance agency’s visibility and raise awareness within the community about the needs of the community;
- Represent the agency in a competent, professional and responsive manner;
- Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner;
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and supervision;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
