Position Description
As a Community Relations Specialist, you will be responsible to support the coordination and administration of community events and sponsorships for existing and new markets, while fostering meaningful connections with the community and cultivating support for the organization’s mission and goals.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree. Demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Experience
At least three years of experience working in diverse community outreach and/or promotional programs. Experience relating and connecting with individuals of varied ethnic, cultural backgrounds, ages and economic circumstances within the community. Experience conducting outreach, planning activities, as well as summarizing and presenting information. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to events which may occur on evening and weekends. Must be able to lift 15 lbs. and move materials easily.
Preferred Experience
Knowledge of state and federal government health care programs. Highly organized person with experience and understanding of the unique needs of low-income, diverse, disabled, and senior populations. Ability to speak, write/read in Spanish or Somali is a plus.
