ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We're seeking a skilled Human Resources Analyst to join our team, specializing in Classification and Compensation. In this role, you'll dive into complex issues, utilizing your analytical skills to make informed impactful decisions regarding classification and compensation.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Position performs complex professional human resources business analyst work in Classification and Compensation.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
An employee in this class demonstrates analytical skills by successfully handling complex issues related to classification and compensation. The employee exercises judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting personnel and departmental guidelines; communicates effectively with employees and with management on a one-to-one or group basis; makes and communicates decisions; works independently. Work requires frequent and regular contact with customers both inside and outside of direct reporting relationship. The purpose of the contact is to address specific issues and/or general policies. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Classification and Compensation Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
RECRUITMENT STANDARDS
Graduation from a four year college or university with a major in Human Resources Administration, HR Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline and three years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources; OR,
Associate’s degree in with a major in Human Resources Administration, HR Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or a closely related discipline and five years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources; OR,
High School Diploma or GED and seven years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources.
Trainee Option
$56,426 - $59,117Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in Human Resources Administration, HR Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline and one (1) year of experience in Human Resources; OR,
Masters degree in Human Resources Administration, Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or a closely related discipline.
Preferred Qualification
Experience in a centralized governmental Human Resources Department.
Physical Demands
An employee in this position must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. The employee must be able to perform light work exerting up to 10 pounds of force routinely and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force occasionally to lift objects.
Working Conditions
Workspace consists of a normal office environment. No adverse environmental conditions.
May Require Driving
This position may require driving for this position whether driving a County owned or personal vehicle to conduct county business such as but not limited to attending conferences, meetings, or any other county related functions. Motor Vehicle Reports may be verified for valid driver's license and that the driving record is compatible with the county's driving criteria.
If a personal vehicle is operated for county business proper insurance is maintained as per Guilford County's vehicle use policy.
