Compliance Analyst (Banking) jobs in Boulder, CO

Compliance Analyst (Banking) monitors customer accounts and researches transactions to identify suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Uses customer data mining and software tools to identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Analyst (Banking) reviews daily Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) and Questionable Activity Reports (QAR), and submits Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) as appropriate. Ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols. Additionally, Compliance Analyst (Banking) may lead or participate in investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Keeps abreast with regulatory changes, risk management best practices, and trending methods used by fraud perpetrators. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide a well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Compliance Analyst (Banking) work is closely managed.     Position Summary
    This is a full-time, exempt position that requires excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills, self-motivation, confidentiality, and sales energy. The job duties will focus on actively soliciting and servicing prospective customers, managing a portfolio of business and consumer relationships, including commercial and consumer loans, Timberline Bank deposit accounts and ICS/CDARS through the Promontory Network.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Generate and service a variety of secured and unsecured business loans or lines of credit.
    • Seek new loan and deposit accounts through business development calling efforts, referrals, and active involvement in the community.
    • Cultivate banking relationships with the Bank's established customers and develop total banking relationships with prospective customers.
    • Provide lending information to prospects, take loan applications, and use analytical and decision- making skills to offer loan Solutions that best serve the customers' financial needs.
    • Treat all similarly situated applicants fairly and equitably through all aspects of the credit process.
    • Review business organizational and financial documents to clearly understand each credit request.
    • Review consumer financial statements and documents such as trust agreements, to recommend appropriate financial solutions.
    • Prepare credit approval presentations for loan committee approval.
    • Work cooperatively with the Funding Operations Team and loan assistants to ensure effectiveness and efficiency throughout the loan process.
    • Work with Banking Specialists to offer deposit account Solutions and develop banking relationships.
    • Assist customers through the lending process and maintain periodic contact to assess their financial needs throughout the banking relationship.
    • Ensure all applicable appraisal, title and insurance requirements are met for each loan request.
    • Review loan documentation for accuracy and manage technical exceptions.
    • Facilitate loan closings and perform credit administration throughout the term of the loan, as required per policy.
    • Develop objectives and be accountable for profitability and soundness of his/her portfolio.
    • Follow established audit, security, compliance guidelines and Bank policies and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations as well as internal policies.
    • Remain current on local events and industry trends as it relates to safe and sound lending.
    • Refer prospective clients to investment advisors, as appropriate.
    • Represent the Bank at community events and participate on community boards and committees.
    • Provide quality customer service promptly and courteously at all times.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • 5 A Bachelor's degree; MBA or CFA is preferred.
    • 5 years of experience in commercial and/or consumer lending and loan portfolio administration.
    • Understanding extremely complicated financial statements and loan terms.
    • Strong relationship builder with business development skills that can grow a portfolio while managing existing customer base.
    • Relationship management skills for high net-worth customers' commercial, small business and personal financial needs.
    • Highly developed analytical and underwriting expertise with a credit quality focus.
    • Customer-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strict adherence to confidentiality requirements.
    • General working knowledge of the compliance laws/regulations regarding loan accounts.
    • Proven people, communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
    • Strong team-focused attitude.

    **Pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules, the salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Incentives based on Timberline Team goals may also be offered.
