Compliance Analyst (Banking) monitors customer accounts and researches transactions to identify suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations. Uses customer data mining and software tools to identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Analyst (Banking) reviews daily Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) and Questionable Activity Reports (QAR), and submits Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) as appropriate. Ensures adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols. Additionally, Compliance Analyst (Banking) may lead or participate in investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Keeps abreast with regulatory changes, risk management best practices, and trending methods used by fraud perpetrators. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide a well-informed staff. The position requires increasing skills and responsibilities in the administration, analysis, development and oversight of internal programs and processes to ensure compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC)
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintenance of compliance systems and processes used to oversee compliance with the Reliability Standards and associated major rules (25%):
· Systems and processes to comply with:
o Reliability Standards – including Monthly/Quarterly/Annual NERC reports
o NERC Compliance Monitoring & Enforcement Program (CMEP)o NERC Rules of Procedures (ROP)
o NERC Alertso NERC Event Analysis and Performance
· Tampa Electric compliance systems and processes:
o Tampa Electric SharePoint site databases and data management
o Tampa Electric Internal Compliance Program (ICP)
o Regulatory Affairs monitoring & tracking programs
2. Serve as the primary administrator for FRCC audits, spot checks and enforcement reviews in preparation for and during these events. (25%)
· Pre-event, develop for review:
o Internal logistics for event
o Organization of responsive evidence
o Index for evidence submittal
o Preparation of evidence for uploading to FRCC secure portal and vault
o Pre-audit company survey response
· During event, develop for review
o Administration of data response process
3. Process and prepare collected data and reports as necessary for compliance monitoring and assessment and, in general, all aspects of internal and external compliance activities. (15%)
4. Tracking and follow-up of the company processes to ensure compliance. (15%)
5. Assist in preparation of self-reports, mitigation plans and Technical Feasibility Exceptions (TFEs) (10%)
6. Monitor NERC, FRCC and FCC communications and web pages for Reliability Standards and rule development, schedule changes, and enforcement activity (10%)

JOB LEVEL: REGULATORY COMPLIANCE ANALYST I
This entry-level position in the progression focuses on maintenance of systems, analysis and assisting in the administration of the company wide NERC compliance process. This level performs the primary duties and responsibilities initially with supervision and guidance, while gaining practical experience and the ability to work independently.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required: Bachelors’ Degree in relevant field is required.
Preferred: Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred.
Related Experience
Required: 0-2 years of related experience is required.
Related experience may consist of technical or analytical work in regulatory compliance areas other than NERC, work in utility power engineering and operations, or work in IT Security.
Preferred: A minimum of three years of related experience is preferred.

Position performs primary and additional duties and responsibilities under limited supervision and general guidance.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Research, develop, and implement improved NERC compliance systems and processes to achieve consistency and efficiency in Tampa Electric for documentation and procedures.
· Perform statistical, logical or mathematical analysis as needed for special studies and reports. Complete analysis to support regulatory compliance filings, discovery responses and other document filings.
· Coordinate the dissemination of information from FRCC and NERC to Subject Matter Experts relating to data requests, evidence handling and submittals, as well as new filing requirements.
· Provide technical/administration support to subject matter experts for ensuring compliance with all NERC and FRCC approved standards and requirements.
· Work with outside legal counsel on coordination of internal review of FRCC filings.

· Collaborate/coordinate with internal staff in development of improved capabilities in the areas of documentation, coding, and compliance.
· Perform analysis of current situations and recommend priorities and goals for future company compliance needs; review internal controls, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NERC standards, guidelines and policies; and respond promptly to external and internal concerns; coordinating corrective actions as appropriate.
· Coordinate the development of self-reports and mitigation plans. Represent Regulatory Affairs on various company project teams.
· Serve as lead in company compliance projects.
SUPERVISION
Indirect Supervision: May lead inter-departmental collaboration efforts on compliance activities/projects.
