Position Overview
Inclusive Action is seeking a Compliance Associate to lead the operations and administration of Inclusive Action’s Federal and State reporting, including keen attention to compliance and risk assessment. The Compliance Associate will create internal systems and processes to track, monitor and evaluate public funding that the organization receives and uses and will work with external partners and consultants to ensure these systems are robust and in alignment with best practices. The Associate needs to be familiar with State and Federal procurement/contracts and reporting systems - they will be responsible for reviewing agreements and reporting on requirements, tracking requirements, analyzing data to complete reports, and managing key files for review over time.
This position requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in public data management and reporting systems. They will be team-oriented and collaborative, with experience working across teams to scan for opportunities, design and create reports, and communicate the status and changes of IAC’s compliance work.
The Associate will report to the Operations & Finance Director and will work closely with the Lending Director, Lending Associate Director, Development Manager, and other IAC staff as necessary.
This team member will be responsible for:
Compliance Management
Ensure State and Federal compliance requirements are being met at an organizational level; this includes CDFI and lobbying requirements and restrictions.
Review contracts and grant agreements for compliance requirements and plan with programmatic teams who to comply. Negotiate modifications to agreements as needed
Database Management
Review Lease Agreements and Subcontractor agreements and screen for potential liabilities;
Collaborate and coordinate with colleagues across teams to ensure accurate and timely collection of data;
Maintain funder database(s) that comply with federal and state regulations;
Provide recommendations and continuously look for ways to improve performance, efficiency and effectiveness of data collection processes;
Support in efforts to develop procedures to uphold data quality and integrity in data entry processes among staff;
Tracking, Monitoring, and Reporting
Lead on compiling data and preparing reports for funders;
Generate reports required by funders and internal partners, ensuring accuracy and timeliness;
Update Salesforce with any changes to covenants or reporting deadlines;
Track all lobbying expenses and hours to ensure the organization stays compliant with nonprofit federal tax code rules;
General Project Management
Support Inclusive Action in identifying ways to support the dynamic needs of clients and work in conjunction with other team members to support the mission of the organization;
Assist in program-related research projects and other duties that may be assigned; and
Support the cultivation of a creative, productive environment with Inclusive Action staff and its partners.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, or a related field;
At least three years of experience in data management and reporting;
Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems;
Proficiency with Excel, including the ability to utilize formulaic logic for data manipulation and analysis;
Strong analytical skills;
Detail oriented to ensure high data quality;
Experience in federal government reporting is highly preferred;
Excellent collaborator and communicator;
Interest in economic development, social enterprise development, community-based finance, and/or popular education;
A positive, upbeat attitude that supports Inclusive Action staff and its organizational partners; and
Commitment to Inclusive Action’s mission.
Compensation
Inclusive Action for the City offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The starting salary for this position is $70,000 - $85,000, dependent on experience. The position also offers full medical, dental, and vision benefits, a 401k retirement plan with 3% matching after one year of work, 18 paid holidays, and up to two weeks of paid vacation a year, with an opportunity to accrue more after serving two years with the organization.

Currently, the Inclusive Action team is working in person at the office 40% of the time and remotely 60% of the time until further notice and all employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
