Compliance Investigator conducts investigations of alleged violations of the corporation's ethical standards or non-compliance with applicable laws, regulations and corporate policy. Ensures that investigations follow the approved process, are lawfully and objectively conducted, are thorough in gathering all material facts and present an accurate accounting of the issues. Being a Compliance Investigator presents clear, concise, and factual reports that enable fair and relevant decisions to be made. Recommends proactive measures that will reduce the risk of similar future incidents. Additionally, Compliance Investigator typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. May require a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification. The Compliance Investigator contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.   • General Description of Position: The primary function of this position is to assist the Community Services Department in scheduling medical appointments for participants, communicating with healthcare providers including ensuring consultation forms are completed as well as follow-up, overseeing Medication Administration Records (MARs) set up and changes as needed, and completing the medication check-in process at the time of the medication cycle and as needed.

    You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

    Essential Duties of the Position:
    1. This position requires that the employee read, write, type, speak and comprehend the English language.

    2. This position requires that the employee report to work/training as scheduled, stay awake and alert during work/training, and follow company policy for arranging time away from work.

    3. This position requires that the employee follow all policies and procedures at all times and as written unless official accommodation or dispensation is given by the Executive Director.

    4. Employees in this position will interact with colleagues and participants professionally and in a manner consistent with policy.

    5. This position requires ensuring that security and confidentiality of all participant and employee records and/or information is maintained at all times.

    6. This position is required to be certified and able to perform CPR, First Aid.

    7. This position is required to operate a computer and required software effectively and efficiently including typing, navigation, and interpretation of electronic data.

    8. This position may require extended periods of sitting, standing or walking for the duration of a work assignment.

    9. This position will organize and maintain a file system which is easily used by others in their absence.

    10. This position requires the ability to complete and oversee organizational Medication Administration Records (MARs) for participants as assigned.

    11. This position requires the employee communicate with physicians; is the primary contact for medical issues and appointments, and ensures completion of consultation forms & follow up. All communication and information received and given will be documented.

    12. This position receives medication at the time of the medication cycle and more often as needed with medication changes, and completes the medication check-in process communicating with the pharmacy and/or physician regarding any questions and/or discrepancies.

    13. This position requires that the employee maintain a valid driver’s license, maintain an insurable driving record, and operate any vehicle (personal or company owned) on behalf of the organization.

    Other Expected Duties/Functions/Competencies/Results:
    1. This position requires that the employee comply with Department of Health rules, Medicaid rules and CARF standards.

    2. This position will complete an electronic time sheet for the assigned work time as per company policy.

    3. This position will interface with external agencies regarding all previously listed items in a professional and effective manner.

    4. This position requires the employee gather data in a timely & efficient manner to complete all required reports, analysis, trainings, etc.

    5. This position is required to oversee and respond as needed to all documentation requirements of the organization.

    6. This position may be required to attend and provide information during program participant meetings, i.e. participant IPC meetings (annual, six-month updates, supplemental, etc.), and other meetings as assigned by management.
    7. This position supports and assists the Community Services Department in achieving the mission of quality services and compliant documentation.

    8. This position will complete and oversee organizational Therap ISPs as well as the Therap IDF. This includes ensuring all Department of Health’s rules, Medicaid rules and CARF standards are being met.

    9. This position requires that the employee ensures billing codes are accurate and IPC billing modifications are completed in a timely manner.
    10. This position requires performing other duties in a manner which are generally expected and consistent with other similar positions.

    Equipment Used: The employee may be required to use any of the following company-owned equipment: office devices, computer, vehicle, keys, cell phone, etc. If the employee is required to use any specialty equipment they will be trained on its safe and appropriate use.

    Environment Typically Encountered: The environment this position typically encounters is that of an office and has a low noise level. Most environments will be climate controlled but could be exposed to slick or dry surfaces and hot or cold temperatures. Environments can also vary in level of stimulation and noise.

    Certificates/Licenses/Registration/Education/Experience Required:
    1. This position requires a valid driver’s license and employee must meet underwriting standards set by the company insurance carrier in order to operate any vehicle (personal or company owned) on behalf of the organization. Failure to maintain minimum driving tier (underwriting) requirement may result in adverse impact to the employee.

    2. The employee must present upon hire documentation to meet the requirements of the federal I-9 form.
