    Summary of the Product Manager - State Compliance

    The Product Manager is a strong customer advocate and is looked upon as a state level subject matter expert. You are responsible for the product planning and execution of assigned product modules throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the best practice strategies, product vision, and working closely with Implementation, Development, Sales, Marketing and Support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. Working in the Compliance Services team, the Product Manager is responsible for being the subject matter expert for assigned compliance modules. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.


    Job Functions of the Product Manager - State Compliance

    • Familiarize yourself with the existing product line’s capabilities and its potential impact on the market as a whole
    • Define best practice approaches for SmartCare forms, documents, clinical workflows/pathways, operational workflows and billing requirements based on an understanding of each assigned state
    • Work closely with SmartCare Product Managers to layer in required state level features or best practice approaches, and ensure that actionable work is always available for the engineering team.
    • Work with the sales organization and account management teams as a subject matter expert for each state you are assigned.  
    • Translate requirements into work backlog and ensure that appropriate level of detail is available:
      • Develop Business need
      • Review the technical approach to determine if it meets a best practice approach
      • Accept each update to make sure it meets state requirements
    • Work closely with others in Product Management to ensure that features being developed meet the customer’s and/or state’s needs
    • Work closely with the Sales, Account Management and Implementation Teams to ensure that everyone is positioned to successfully train on and implement new features
    • Help ensure deadlines are met by facilitating conversations, clarifying requirements, and providing input on analysis, development, troubleshooting, testing, and accepting work where appropriate.
    • Keep track of new functionalities being added as part of the Product Release cycles and maintain expertise on the product.


    Requirements of the Product Manager - State Compliance

    • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
    • 3-5 years of EHR or EMR product manager experience, OR operational leadership or consulting with a behavioral health organization, preferably with a focus on compliance, regulatory, or interoperability.
    • Complex problem solving
    • Strong communication skills
      • Comfortable conversing with highly business oriented audiences
      • Ability to clearly and succinctly organize thoughts and ideas and convey them to others in their language
      • Ability to lead user group discussions
    • Able to collaborate effectively in a team environment and deliver successful results
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Strong attention to detail
