Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer programs and sets up CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications. Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models and inputs the product design into the computer modeling software. Being a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer adjusts machine settings to the desired product specifications, and troubleshoots and maintains the machine. Utilizes G or M code and CAM software (MasterCAM,CAMWorks or others). Additionally, Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer tests accuracy of settings and programs. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Software group is responsible for the development and implementation of the programming logic for
building automation projects within the Controls division. The Software Technician III will act as project lead for
the Software efforts on each project that they are directly assigned or as a resource under the supervision of a
senior software technician. This position will act as a leader in the installation, startup, and commissioning of
building automation system equipment for each project they are directly assigned. It is the expectation of the
management group that this individual possesses a mastery of all the skills/abilities of the previous titles (I & II)
to work either independently or under the supervision/guidance of a senior technician. The Software Tech III
will be responsible for the successful execution of the project with a focus on delivering a high-quality product
to the end user while ensuring projects are completed within the projects’ schedules and budgets.
Quality will be maintained in adherence to department standards, and it is the responsibility of the Software
Tech III to assist in the implementation of these standards on every project to which they are assigned and to
review/audit the work of tasks they delegate to a junior technician(s). Additionally, it is the expectation that the
Software Technician III will possess the knowledge, expertise, and ability to train and mentor junior techs within
the Software group to support the growth and development of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· HS Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related technical field is a plus
· Five or more years’ experience working within the Building Automation industry
· Mastery of all responsibilities expected of each previous Software Technician level (I, II)
· Experience of implementing building automation solutions and writing software code
· Niagara AX/N4 certification is a plus
· Knowledge of various BAS protocols (ie: BACnet, LONworks, Modbus, etc)
· Knowledge of ethernet networking
· Ability to read, interpret, and understand design and construction documents
· Ability to work in a variety of circumstances (both in the office and the field) including but not limited
to: climbing ladders/scaffolds/high lift equipment, working on active construction sites
· Ability to use and operate various hand and power tools
· Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations
