Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models and inputs the product design into the computer modeling software. Being a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer adjusts machine settings to the desired product specifications, and troubleshoots and maintains the machine. Utilizes G or M code and CAM software (MasterCAM,CAMWorks or others). Additionally, Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer tests accuracy of settings and programs. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Job Overview:
Our Quality Control Manager is an experienced CMM Programmer using the Zeiss Calypso Software. They are responsible for managing the day-to-day responsibilities of managing a team along with customer PPAP and FAI requirements for new parts. They must be able to perform CPK studies and gage R&R on core processes to drive continual improvement.
Job Description:
-Responsible for participating in all aspects of day-to-day Quality and Engineering activities. Interprets and communicates dimensional data from technical drawings.
-Manage day to day CMM operations including calibration and maintenance. At times this will require working directly with Zeiss customer care to ensure that repairs are completed in a timely manner in order to minimize downtime and impacts on production.
- Work directly with production to ensure that CMM programs are in place where necessary, and that any discrepancies are investigated in a timely manner.
-Support customer FAI/PPAP projects with any required CPK, Gage R&R, data collection, etc.
- Perform CPK studies on major internal processes or processes that show signs of instability, and work with process owners on creative and effective process improvement ideas.
- Standardize CMM programs and fixturing across all CMM’s minimizing impact on production in the event that a CMM goes down.
- Create Starrett KMR – 200, Micro-Vu, and Keyence programs for commonly run parts in order to help minimize inspection time and traffic jams in inspection areas.
- Responsible for assisting in developing and distributing production and pre-production inspection checklists and drawings.
- Complete special assignments as needed.
- Initiate Corrective Actions.
- Work with Quality Managers, Inspectors, and Machine Operators to create a more efficient workflow of parts through QC.
- Hours and days may vary due to customer need and business capabilities.
