    Information Technology Enterprise Operations

    The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.

    • Perform print operations, electronic document management, media management, problem reporting and resolutions related to the organization.
    • Receive, respond to, and ensure the production of scheduled digital and print output. Activates, monitors, and control print production and quality for processing requirements to link internal operating systems and utility programs with application programs, peripheral equipment, teleprocessing and input/output channels.
    • Monitors systems status and performance, observes and responds to system messages, and defines, isolates, and resolves operating problems, failures and malfunctions. Reviews trouble tickets and acts as a liaison with the IRS Quality Support Center for document and library management issues.

    • Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S. These documents must be unexpired original or certified copies.

    Qualifications

    Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service.     SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
    Grade 5 Level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-4 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience includes: Experience that is related to the work of this position and has provided you with the competencies required for successful job performance. Examples of qualifying experience may have been gained in positions performing clerical work in support of a program area to include: assisting in completing reports in a timely manner; reviewing forms/cases for correctness of format; operating automated systems to complete work assignments.
    OR
    EDUCATION:
    A Bachelor's degree or four (4) years of education above high school in any field of study from an accredited college or university.
    OR
    COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
    An equivalent amount of combined education and experience. Only education in excess of 60 semester hours, 90 quarter hours or 1440 classroom hours is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement for the GS-5 level. For example, one full year of academic study (30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 formal classroom hours) beyond the second year is equal to 6 months of specialized experience. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, college or university.

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
    Grade 6 Level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience includes: Experience that is related to the work of this position and has provided you with the competencies required for successful job performance. Examples of qualifying experience may have been gained in operating computer equipment; providing support to a Local Area Network (LAN); analyzing data quickly and reading computer printouts to extract necessary information; recognizing/correcting minor malfunctions and reporting findings to responsible personnel; receiving, testing and installing new products; installing software updates.
