Being a Conservation Technician may require an associate's degree or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Conservation Technician relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     The Blair County Conservation District has a vacancy for a Resource Conservation Technician to complete duties associated with the state delegated Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control and NPDES Program. Primary duties include: Review and Approval of E&S plans, Site/Complaint Inspections, NPDES Permit Processing and Reporting, Municipal Coordination and Educational Endeavors. Coverage area is to include Blair County working from the Conservation District office in Hollidaysburg, PA.

    Minimum requirements: B.S. degree in Engineering, Geoscience or Natural Resource related field, or combination of related experience and training; 1-2 years working experience (public or private) in the field of soil conservation and NPDES Permitting; strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of construction operations and erosion control BMP’s; valid driver’s license. This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week, with benefits. Must be able to work flexible hours, including some evening hours.
