Field Service Coordinator - Construction Equipment
 Newington, CT 

Pay: $55,000 –$70,000/year (dependent on relevant experience) 
Bonus Potential: 10%

Key qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years’ coordinating labor schedules required
• 2 years’ technical / mechanical experience preferred
• Experience with troubleshooting and/or repair of construction equipment highly preferred  
• Strong computer skills and comfortable with new technology 
• Strong communication and organization skills 
• Off-hour on-call availability (by phone only), including weekends and holidays, required

Responsibilities: 

Assist direct supervisor in successfully delivering and selling service of recognized, superior value by providing necessary key resources (people, materials, tooling and time)

• Effectively communicate with all stakeholders on work to be performed, changes required in scope of work, job status, etc.
• Assure repairs are completed in a timely manner by providing accurate job information, parts, tooling, supplies, etc.
• Assure repairs are completed in a timely manner by effectively troubleshooting and diagnosing machine problems with technicians
• Maximize technician utilization by effectively scheduling, planning and assigning work

Maximize the effective and efficient use of the service processes to provide fast and accurate service and minimize unnecessary expense 

• Review and approve daily time cards to track and monitor technician performance against quoted hours of job standards and manage accordingly
• Advise Assistant Service Manager of changes in available work vs. staffing levels
• Continually review and improve processes
• Process jobs to be billed on a daily basis
  

Successfully build and maintain a culture of safety through successful completion of all safety initiatives/training and enforcing safe work 

• Assist direct supervisor in/by conducting weekly safety meetings and ensuring monthly safety audits for work area are complete
• Ensure timely communication of safety issues to direct supervisor with appropriate documentation
• Ensure all new hires within work area complete safety orientation requirements within 30 days
• Ensure Field Technicians have completed online safety training assignments by due dates

Assist direct supervisor in maintenance of the Field Service Fleet in a cost-effective and safe manner

• Assure the fleet is maintained in a clean and uncluttered state
• Assure the fleet and its related equipment is in sound working order
• Assure the fleet and its related equipment is operating safely

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

• Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time 
• Hand coordination (typing and writing)
• Occasional forward bending and reaching 
• Occasional walking and climbing stairs 
• Carrying (up to 20lbs.)
