Construction Project Estimator

Starting Pay: $45,000 - $75,000/year – based on experience

Project Bonuses – based on job profitability

Christmas Bonus – based on company profitability

Accrued Paid Time Off – 2.0 hours/week

Vogts Construction Company is a rapidly growing Central Kansas focused General Contractor. Current and future projects include construction management, design-build and lump sum. We are looking for a qualified & experienced individual to join our team and fulfill the role of Construction Estimator. The right individual should take pride in organization, process improvement, customer service, personal results, and overall company performance.

The right individual will possess a balance of interpersonal skills, industry specific knowledge (education or formal training), and several years of experience in Commercial & Industrial Construction.

The best fit starts with some or all the below knowledge, skills, and abilities:

·Estimator Responsibilities:

• Estimate both conceptual designs and complete designs.
• Assist design team with budgetary pricing at various stages in design development.
• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Utilize estimating software to prepare bid solicitations
• Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
• Review and obtain, if required, bid bond, builder’s risk, building permit, sales tax status and insurance.
• Identify qualified subcontractors and vendors. Verify scope and price.
• Prepare Cost Proposal Reports.
• Support other department personnel as required.
• May review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
• Verify bid coverages of all disciplines of work prior to bid day.
• Prepare preliminary project schedules as necessary to capture duration of project.
• Hold review meetings for all estimates with project manager to handoff project.
• Have estimates ready to review 24 hours prior to bid.
• Follow estimating standard operating procedures.
• Perform additional assignments per Company direction.
