MUST HAVE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
The function of the Inspection Manager is to ensure all AFPS Inspections are completed in a timely manner providing excellent communication with Coordinators, Inspectors and Clients. Consistently monitor standards of quality and safety, exceeding customer expectations. Ensures quality service by establishing internal control procedures for scheduling coordinators, field inspections, records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Plan, manage, and direct the operations of the Inspection process of water-based fire protection systems and fire alarm systems.
- Play an integral role in the development of Lead Inspectors and Helper/Apprentices.
- Perform reviews as directed by Upper Management with Inspectors, Coordinators and Helper/Apprentices.
- Recruit, hire Inspectors to maintain an adequate balance of inspection demands.
- Continually review, forecast and prepare reports on Inspection workload VS manpower.
- Establish and maintain adequate systems to track and monitor all deficiency reports for accuracy.
- Work with and coordinate with Inspection Development Manager and participate in field training of technicians.
- Perform and/or assist with inspections as needed.
- Ensure inspections are conducted in accordance with NFPA codes and standards.
- Inspect and report DOT or federal and state safety, health, and environmental compliance deficiencies to General Service Operations Manager.
- Understand and guide service site inventories and layouts.
- Routinely perform field visits with Customers and Inspection Teams.
- Uphold Advanced Fire Protection Services Mission, Vision, and Values.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in industry with Inspection, Testing and Maintenance background.
- NICET II or equivalent in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based systems strongly preferred.
- Acceptable background check and drug screening.
- Ability to be insured on company automobile insurance.
- Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, all types of water-based systems, fire pumps, fire alarm systems.
- 3 years in the related or similar fire protection industry.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent customer relation skills
- Excellent computer/software skills
- Intermediate knowledge of fire and building codes, OSHA, and other regulations pertaining to job
- Ability to understand flow calculations, basic algebra/geometry.
- Ability to understand challenges of inspections and plan solutions accordingly.
- Ability to recommend, write and implement quality assurance enhancement plans.
- Ability to communicate in English.
