Danella Construction, a national utility construction company, is looking for a Safety Professional for our operations in Chesapeake, VA. The Safety Professional will work with our team to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, our clients, and our safety program.
Role and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include working with the corporate safety department and division management relative to safety education, regulatory compliance, and promoting a Safety Culture.
· Conduct training classes with our employees in OSHA, DOT Transportation regulations, and company & client requirements
· Perform safety inspections at utility construction sites
· Record-keeping
· Complete Accident Reports for Worker Injuries, Vehicle Accidents, and General Liability
· Conduct accident investigations and prepare root-cause analysis
· Complete statistical reports
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Required Skills:
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Ability to conduct training classes and inspect utility construction work sites for compliance
Effective communication skills (verbal & written)
Some travel is required in the mid-Atlantic region
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in occupational safety and health or minimum 3 year safety management experience
Utility construction experience is a plus
