Construction Management Director oversees construction projects and operations to meet the organization's financial and growth objectives and fulfill client contractual requirements. Develops and implements quality, performance, and safety standards and procedures for operations. Being a Construction Management Director reviews and approves procurement of required material, equipment, subcontractors, and worker resources. Provides project updates and communicates with clients, contractors, governmental or regulatory officials, and other stakeholders. Additionally, Construction Management Director builds effective team capacity to plan and implement construction projects. Ensures all permits, licenses, or certifications required by regulatory authorities are obtained. Establishes and enforces safety protocols and procedures to provide safe job sites and minimize risk. Monitors costs and timelines and submits required progress reports to deliver projects on time and within budget. Implements best practice construction methods to improve efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes. Requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Typically reports to senior management. The Construction Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Construction Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job Summary

    As the Director of Operations at Koester Construction Company, you will be a vital leader in ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to our quality standards. You will oversee all operational aspects of our construction projects nationwide, managing our talented team, optimizing processes, and embodying our core values.


    Key Responsibilities


    Project Management:

    • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and budget.
    • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and hold regular stakeholder meetings to monitor project performance.
    • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

    Team Leadership:

    • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of project managers and staff to encourage optimal performance.
    • Ensure staffing requirements are met and that employees are trained and knowledgeable about safety and operational procedures.

    Operational Excellence:


    • Improve operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the Koester's vision — specifically, support better management reporting, information flow, business process, and organizational planning.
    • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of support services, through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.

    Safety and Compliance:

    • Uphold and promote the company's dedication to safety, ensuring all projects comply with safety regulations and quality standards.
    • Assist the company safety director to lead a continuous quality improvement process throughout the program and project teams.

    Client Relations:

    • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the client well-informed of project progress.
    • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, addressing and rectifying any issues or concerns promptly.


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Proven experience as a Director of Operations, Senior Project Manager, or similar role, in the commercial construction industry.
    • Strong understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing etc.
    • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
    • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
    • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, including excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
