Construction Representative jobs in New Haven, CT

Petra Construction Corporation, an award-winning mid-sized general contracting/construction management firm based in North Haven, CT, is seeking a Laborer with general construction and final cleaning experience.  They will physically assist carpenters and site supervisors on job sites as needed and routinely clean the office facility. 

Essential duties include but are not limited to:

• Manual labor tasks including moving, lifting, loading, and unloading construction materials;
• General rough carpentry to assist with building protection or erecting temporary protection;
• Sweeping and general job site clean-up;
• Final cleaning of rooms, offices, or small areas;
• Maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment;
• Clean, stock and supply designated office facility areas (wipe down cabinets, vacuum, dust, mop, sweep, clean restrooms, and perform other indoor cleaning tasks as needed).

Requirements

• Prior experience as a construction laborer including knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures;
• Commercial/office cleaning experience;
• Must have a valid Driver's License and their own transportation; 
• Ability to:
  • Report to work as scheduled and on time;
  • Communicate effectively:
  • Work well independently and with others;
  • Follow directions;
  • Manage your own time and finish jobs efficiently and completely;
  • Perform physically-demanding work;
  • Follow all health, safety, and security regulations and procedures;
  • Work throughout the State of Connecticut.
• OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
