Job Description:
SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic, forward thinking, and engaging Capital Construction Site Representative. The Capital Construction Site Representative will work with the State University Construction Fund (SUCF), Office of General Services (OGS), architectural and engineering consultants, contractors, vendors, applicable State and regulatory agencies and the Campus community to assist in coordination and manage of design and construction projects on Campus. Assist in coordinate with all stakeholder groups including facilities trades, faculty and staff to make certain related planning, design and construction activities are meeting the goals and objectives of the Campus. Provide project management and site representative duties including inspecting the work, coordination and management of owner provided work and action items, project documentation, project record keeping and electronic file management, change management, attending and/or conducting meetings and taking minutes, crafting requests for proposals, review of cost proposals and schedules, and pre-approval of payment applications
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily on-site observations, monitor, expedite and inspect the progress and quality of the work as necessary on multiple construction projects to interpret that the projects are preceding in accordance with the contract documents.

Read, interpret, and comprehend contract plans, specifications, addenda, bidding documents, contracts and other related materials and recommend approaches to resolving issues.

Attend all project meetings.

Review consultant and contractor progress payments.

Maintain liaison with non-campus agencies and assist in the resolution of issues where appropriate.

Manage consultants and contractors in delivery of projects.

Schedule and supervise required testing and commissioning, and monitor results.

Notify Facilities of scheduled shut down or other events.

Evaluate any contractor suggestions for modifications to planned work or specifications and report them with recommendations to the consultant and the Capital Planning Office.

Assist the consultant and campus in project completion and in preparation of punch list, turnover of equipment, close out package and for requirements of contractor and site for certificate of occupancy.

Coordinate with Capital Planning, Facilities, Information Technology Services and Audio Visual campus departments for integration with contractor and site work as needed.

Ensure public safety around project sites, assure projects do not interrupt normal daily operations of the campus, all while monitoring productivity of contractors and accountability for scheduled completion dates.

Work with a wide variety of stakeholders

Assist in future work planning based on in-depth project status and trade labor knowledge.

Due to the nature of the work, this position may require a non-standard work schedule with the ability to respond to off-hour emergencies.
Job Requirements:

Associate degree or higher; minimum of three years' experience in the construction industry

Organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex issues with a diverse population.

Valid driver's license

Excellent knowledge of building trades

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Possess a willingness and ability to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community
Preferred requirements:
- Experience in a higher education setting with multi-million-dollar facilities; prior knowledge of project management including planning, design, construction management, cost estimating, and budgets.

Working knowledge of New York State Building Codes and other code standards.

Technical knowledge of architectural, mechanical and electrical building systems.
-
Minimum two years supervisory experience.

Working knowledge and experience with construction and building systems.
