Job Title: Sr. Construction Project Manager
Client: Multinational technology corporation - supporting an electric utility company.
Contract: 6-month initial contract with a high likelihood of extensions up to 18-months.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm EST. (40 hours per week on average)
Location: Boydton, VA
- The first 8-9 months of this project is expected to be 100% remote.
- After the initial 8-9 months of the project, you will be expected to sit onsite in Boydton, VA with 1 trip to northern Virginia per month.
Main duties: This is an individual contributor role where you will be managing project teams.
- Develop, maintain, and manage program requirements, plans, timeline, issues, risks, and, challenges.
- Support Managers to drive a program or projects.
- Work closely with program/process owners, stakeholders, and business partners to identify business change and drive the consensus necessary to adopt a manageable change strategy.
- Manage programs and projects involving multiple parties/organizations with conflicting agendas and business priorities.
- Lead cross-organization project teams towards targeted and scheduled outcomes.
- Engage with program/process owners, stakeholders and business partners as necessary to communicate project objectives, strategy, tactics, and ongoing progress.
- Surrounding team & key projects - Managing construction tented sites across North America
- Typical task breakdown and rhythm - 50% meetings: different stakeholders, educate people on the new initiative, resolving any issues that come up, collaborating 50% heads down building docs to support those efforts.
- Interaction level with team - weekly team meetings, high level of interaction, project meetings: stand-up status meetings, meeting with sponsor at least once a week
Experience requirements:- Substation & Transmission experience - 5 years
- Construction Management experience (Data center capacity) - 10 years
- Project Management & Process Efficiency experience - 5 years
Degrees or certifications required- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or 10 years' experience in substation design and/or delivery.
- Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams of engineers in advanced engineering and operational processes and procedures as they relate to large datacenter environments.
- Electrical Engineer / Professional Engineer is a plus.
