Consumer Credit Manager supervises underwriting operations and oversees the loan application review process to determine loan eligibility and terms. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the underwriting team to ensure that loan screening is conducted timely, accurately, and in compliance with all regulations. Being a Consumer Credit Manager provides loan options or product recommendations based on qualifications and keeps the team updated and informed of new products, regulations, or product changes. Assists customers through the loan process by researching and answering complex or unique customer inquiries, clarifying details, and coordinating with internal parties. Additionally, Consumer Credit Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Consumer Credit Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Consumer Credit Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     General Purpose:
    The Lending Asset Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the health and performance of the lending portfolio. This multifaceted position involves managing loan workouts, restructuring, and modifications, as well as providing critical insights into loan profitability and pricing. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the overall yield of the loan portfolio.


    Essential Duties/Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute strategies for distressed loans, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing losses.
    • Collaborate with legal and risk management teams to navigate complex loan restructuring scenarios.
    • Generate regular reports on delinquencies across three lending areas: business, mortgage, and consumer.
    • Analyze trends, identify risk factors, and propose mitigation strategies.
    • Present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Evaluate loan-level profitability by assessing interest income, fees, and associated costs.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance profitability through pricing adjustments or product offerings.
    • Implement data-driven decisions to optimize returns.
    • Set pricing for individual loans based on risk assessment, market conditions, and competitive landscape.
    • Collaborate with underwriting teams to ensure pricing aligns with risk profiles.
    • Calculate and monitor the total weighted yield of the loan portfolio.
    • Monitor loan performance metrics, including default rates, loss severity, and recovery rates.
    • Implement risk mitigation strategies to maintain portfolio quality.
    • Communicate portfolio performance, trends, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.


    Other Duties/Responsibilities

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
    • Collaborate with lending teams, credit analysts, and finance departments.
    • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of loan workout plans.
    • Foster relationships with external auditors, regulators, and industry peers.
    • Additional duties as assigned or required.


    Job Knowledge

    • Working knowledge of laws and regulations related to the credit union.
    • Working knowledge of organization's policies/procedures and credit union's service philosophy.
    • Working knowledge of the credit union's in-house computer system and internet.
    • Working knowledge of process improvement/CPI principles.
    • Advanced knowledge of lending products, credit risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
    • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.

    Job Qualifications (Education/Experience)

    Job requires a four-year college level of language, math, and reasoning. Minimum of 5 years of experience in loan portfolio management, credit risk, or related roles required. Master’s degree in finance, economics, or related field preferred.
