  • Consumer Loan Accounting Manager
    The Consumer Loan Accounting Manager is responsible for the management and supervision of the Bank's residential mortgage and consumer loan accounting functions and team members, which includes residential mortgage, HELOCs and other consumer loan products. The Manager also supports the accounting department's monthly close processes as well as ensures accurate external financial reporting is provided for consumer loan activities. The role will have a particular focus on providing meaningful financial analysis and driving business process efficiencies and automation.
    Position Responsibilities:
    Accounting Operations Management
    • Oversee and manage the Consumer Loan Accounting team to ensure timely and accurate accounting for loan origination, settlement and servicing activities, including review of journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure proper accounting.
    • Reviews the consumer financial loan activity (disbursements, payments, adjustments, sales, and purchases), to ensure accurate processing on the loan servicing sub-systems and general ledger impacts.
    • Manages compliance with general ledger and demand deposit account corporate reconciliation and aging standards for all consumer loan accounts.
    • Assist Consumer Loan Center (CLC) business partners with the review and maintenance of the Consumer Loan Policies and ensure compliance with these policies effectuates accurate accounting treatment under US GAAP.
    Change Agent and Project Coordinator
    • Serve as leader for Consumer Loan Accounting on digital transformation initiatives impacting the General Ledger or loan subledgers.
    • Support the development and maintenance of the financial systems utilized in the Consumer Loan area, including overseeing testing of the system for enhancements and upgrades in coordination with IT and the Systems Support team.
    • Make and implement recommendations which result in improvements to the integrity and quality of our consumer loan accounting processes, accounting policies and procedures along with the efficiency of the department.
    Analytics and Financial Monitoring
    • Analyze revenue and expense trends and report on net interest margin categories by assisting with month-end close analysis.
    • Prepare monthly financial analysis and coordinate with CLC business partners and business finance/FP&A for additional insights on performance trends.
    • Manages external Loan Center financial reporting including Federal Reserve Call Reporting and the FHLB audit for accounting; comply with government regulations and maintain procedures for timely and accurate reporting.
    • Lead all responses to risk management and internal control inquiries (including SOX) for the consumer loan accounting functional area, including providing relevant information to management, auditors, and regulators in accordance with monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines.

    Position Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, management, or related field
    • 5 years of Experience in Accounting, Finance, or in Auditing (or a combination relevant to the job requirements)
    • 3 years of Experience with financial analysis and reconciliations
    • 3 years of Experience in management or supervision
    • 2 years of Working on a project team or leading projects; experience with implementing systems and/or process changes
    • Knowledge of consumer loan settlement processes and banking products
    License or Certification:
    • CPA Preferred (or specialized experience, certification, license, or advanced degree in area of expertise)
