  • WECU is seeking a Consumer Loan Servicing Manager to join our Consumer Lending team located in Bellingham WA.

    The Consumer Loan Servicing Manager is responsible for overseeing all consumer loan servicing and quality control activities. This leadership role involves managing the Consumer Loan Servicing Team and key responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and development. Additionally, the manager collaborates on departmental or organizational projects and ensures that teams consistently deliver quality member experiences through efficient, knowledgeable, and timely actions.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Consistently provides a high level of service and is committed to increasing member satisfaction.
    • Demonstrate leadership by modeling behaviors aligned with WECU’s core values and beliefs, fostering a sense of teamwork and collaboration.
    • Manages and directs the Consumer Loan Servicing department in accordance with all applicable regulations, policies, and standards.
    • Employs logical reasoning and effectively utilizes available data and resources to make informed decisions.
    • Management authority to include staffing, performance management, coaching, and staff development.
    • Remain current on changes within the economic, competitive, regulatory, and technological environment that may affect consumer loan servicing functions.
    • Prepares detailed research, analysis, and reporting for various audiences, including executive management and board of directors.
    • Partners with other departments and outside parties on campaigns, projects, and initiatives related to consumer loan products.
    • Responsible for maintaining and adherence to adequate compliant records, controls, policies, procedures, and guidelines for the credit union.
    • Responsible for ensuring compliance with consumer loan regulations.
    • Oversees the vehicle title perfection and management processes to ensure compliance and asset protection.
    • Responsible for creation and management of the consumer loan servicing budget.
    • Promotes advocacy and takes personal responsibility to ensure that member issues are handled expeditiously. Acts as a point of escalation for member complaints.
    • As vendor relationship manager, monitor all vendor contracts and service agreements, hold vendors accountable for their actions, and perform detailed responsibilities as noted in our board-approved Vendor Management Program.
    • Monitor and maintain Disaster Recovery Plans for business processes within your specific area of responsibility.
    • Assists with consumer loan servicing related internal and external audits.
    • Meets or exceeds all behavioral standards of a WECU employee.
    • Follows WECU’s policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned and may also assist others to complete tasks and work assignments.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferred in a related field; five years of experience in a related field with equal responsibilities is acceptable.
    • Three or more years of loan operations experience at a financial institution, preferably in a management or supervisory capacity.
    • Relevant training in a credit union, bank, or other financial institution or any documented work experience which provides the candidate with equivalent knowledge and/or experience of the above minimum requirements.
    • Working knowledge of consumer loan operations platforms and programs.
    • Working knowledge of federal and state lending regulations.
    • Ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and tact in dealing with membership, management, and staff.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise independent judgment and analysis.
    • Ability to operate and manage a team within a changing environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills. Must be able to communicate detailed technical information to non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to represent the credit union in a positive, professional manner in person, on the telephone, and in written correspondence.

    COMPENSATION:

    The salary range for this position is $70,678. to $99,781. annually.
