Consumer Loan Servicing Supervisor supervises the daily activities of a loan servicing team. Oversees and coordinates processing and documenting loan transactions, insurance, and tax bills, and performing escrow analysis. Being a Consumer Loan Servicing Supervisor ensures that loan transaction files are accurate and complete, and that staff complies with appropriate procedures, regulations, and guidelines. Performs quality checks and resolves issues. Additionally, Consumer Loan Servicing Supervisor monitors workload and allocates resources to meet production goals. Coaches and trains team. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a senior manager or head of a unit/department. The Consumer Loan Servicing Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Consumer Loan Servicing Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. This person is responsible for the mortgage loan escrow accounts which includes the annual escrow account analysis and ensuring property taxes and insurance are paid.
Qualifications
This person should have an associate’s, degree plus four years of related experience, or the equivalent. This person must have good communication skills with a professional demeanor, the ability to manage multiple projects, an aptitude for details, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to collaborate well with others.
Responsibilities
1. Initiate and ensure the timely payment of all necessary disbursements from escrow accounts, including homeowner’s insurance premium payments, real estate tax payments, and mortgage insurance premium payments.2. Perform the annual escrow account analysis of customers escrow accounts as required by the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act according to established procedures.3. Ensure the accuracy of new escrow accounts being input into the core system. When necessary, perform the setup of or removal of an escrow account on an existing loan.4. Process insurance loss settlement payments, including preparing all necessary forms and documentation for customers.5. Process borrower requests to cancel Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) and automatic termination of PMI according to investor and insurer requirements.6. Answer customer inquiries regarding their escrow accounts.7. Maintain an up-to-date escrow procedure manual.8. Act as the backup to the Investor Accounting function of the department. Including, but not limited to, all remittance and reporting functions and monitoring of the loan servicing shared inbox.9.
