  • Madison, WI FULL_TIME
  • At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison, compassionate care is at the heart of what we do. By providing families with a safe and comfortable place to stay while their children receive treatment at a Madison-area hospital, we lift some of the burden from our families’ shoulders so they can focus on what’s most important – being there for one another.

The Creative Content Manager is not just a job; it’s a mission. As a dynamic, collaborative, results-driven brand ambassador, this is an ideal opportunity for those with strong creative and communication skills seeking professionally and emotionally fulfilling work. This position is unique in its ability to develop and execute our marketing and communications strategy, curate dynamic content and digital fundraising campaigns, craft narratives, and design collateral that inspires the community to get involved.

Key objectives of the position: 1) increase brand awareness and turn that awareness into action; 2) deepen engagement with donors, volunteers, guest families, and the community; and 3) bolster philanthropic efforts to support the annual operating budget.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Curate and manage social, digital, and traditional media, focusing on elevating awareness, reach, and engagement. Track, measure, and report key performance indicators.
    • Regularly identify and interview guest families, volunteers and donors. Generate content around rich stories that inspire others to get involved with the mission.
    • Design collateral, annual and impact reports, appeals, e-newsletters, event materials, video and presentations. Manage promotional merchandise.
    • Collaborate with the development team to plan and support annual fund efforts including but not limited to events, fundraisers, cultivation, and stewardship efforts.
    • Maintain and update the organization’s website to keep it fresh and engaging while meeting RMHC Global and ADA compliance standards.
    • Ensure consistent RMHC brand standards, maintaining and improving cohesive messaging and visual identity. Observe McDonald’s and Ronald McDonald House Charities trademark, licensing and brand standards in all promotional materials, collateral, and publications.
    • Generate media alerts and press releases and maintain relationships with media partners.
    • Draft crisis communication and ongoing program communication as necessary.
    • Manage marketing vendors. Leverage limited resources through in-kind contributions, partnerships, and sponsorships. Maintain and adhere to annual marketing budget.
    • Maintain files and archives of collateral, marketing materials, photos and videos of RMHC-M events, guest families, and volunteer activities.
    • Serve on the Development Committee. Provide advisory support to the Leadership Team.
    • Represent RMHC-M at networking events and secure speaking opportunities in the community.

    Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities

    • Four to six years of related experience in marketing, communications, and content creation. Graphic design and video production helpful. Non-profit experience preferred but not required.
    • Excellent communication skills, with experience creating or supervising the production of materials such as annual reports, brochures, e-newsletters and appeals.
    • Comfortable in one-on-one, small group and large group settings.
    • Self-starter, able to perform and complete tasks independently. Be willing and able to learn new skills and motivated for continual improvement.
    • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects, meet frequent and/or demanding deadlines and be self-disciplined about work prioritization and time management.
    • Demonstrated creative thinking skills.
    • Experience/understanding of the following or similar programs: WordPress, Adobe, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Microsoft Office, social media channels and website maintenance.
