    We are seeking a Content Marketing Strategist to develop and execute comprehensive content strategies that enhance our online presence, drive brand awareness, and improve our lead generation efforts. Reporting to the Marketing Design Manager, this role requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and analytical prowess to craft SEO-friendly content that engages our target audience, demonstrates industry expertise, and drives traffic across various channels.

    Wayside Publishing is a progressive developer of world language programs, resources, and materials for middle and high schools across the United States. We partner with educators to craft transformative texts and digital tools that engage students and foster successful communication and understanding across cultures.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Write and produce high-quality, engaging content including catalog pages, product brochures, articles, whitepapers, infographics, video scripts, and case studies. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers and subject matter experts, to gather information and create accurate and compelling content.
    • Take ownership of writing projects from inception to completion, overseeing multiple rounds of review with various stakeholders and subject matter experts. Ensure that content aligns with our brand voice, messaging strategy, and quality standards, delivering polished and impactful pieces on time and within scope.
    • Develop and implement a content strategy that supports SEO objectives, lead generation, and overall marketing goals. Ensure content is optimized for search engines and user engagement through effective use of SEO practices like keyword research, on-page optimization, and meta tag creation.
    • Develop and oversee internal and external communications, including the creation and distribution of internal newsletters and management of external media relations.
    • Monitor content performance metrics, using data insights to refine strategies and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Maintain a consistent tone and voice across all content that adheres to brand guidelines.
    • Stay updated with the latest SEO and digital marketing trends, industry trends, competitor content strategies, and emerging content formats.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
    • 5 years of experience in content marketing, SEO, or a related field.
    • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to adapt style to various formats and platforms.
    • Strong understanding of SEO practices and content marketing strategies.
    • Familiarity with project management software, content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
    • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Proficiency in content distribution tools, analytics platforms, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
    • Collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • A portfolio showcasing a range of content samples is highly beneficial.
