    Join us as a full-time Program Coordinator - School of Continuing Education (Fielden Institute), where you'll play a crucial role in oversight of the Fielden Institute for Lifelong Learning (FILL). Under direct supervision, your responsibilities will include oversight of FILL membership, instructors, programs, recruitment, expansion, budgeting, reporting, social media and marketing. Develops annual operations plan and budget for of all activities relating to the FILL Program. Plans, organizes and effectively executes programming for current Lifelong Learners, and attracts new members. Coordinates with volunteer instructors and patrons to effectively schedule Lifelong Learning Programs, and attracts new instructors. Organizes and schedules the annual Distinguished Lecture Series. Promotes the program through written communication, paid media and digital media.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Under general supervision, coordinates duties relating to the Fielden Institute for Lifelong Learning (FILL). Responsibilities includes oversight of FILL membership, instructors, programs, recruitment, expansion, budgeting, reporting, social media and marketing. Develops annual operations plan and budget for of all activities relating to the FILL Program. Plans, organizes and effectively executes programming for current Lifelong Learners, and attracts new members. Coordinates with volunteer instructors and patrons to effectively schedule Lifelong Learning Programs, and attracts new instructors. Organizes and schedules the annual Distinguished Lecture Series. Promotes the program through written communication, paid media and digital media.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversees all FILL Membership recruitment, database, trainings, program development, marketing and special events.
    • Travels to branch campuses.
    • Communicates with current and prospective students and instructors.
    • Assists with proposals to seek outside funding. Develops funding opportunities for grants and private philanthropic gifts.
    • Develops an active volunteer program among clients, provides for both promotion and recognition.
    • Determines fiscal requirements and prepares budget proposals.
    • Plans, coordinates and implements programs, classes and special community-wide events.
    • Secures all entertainment, food, decorations, and items necessary to carryout events.
    • Plans, solicits input and involvement from clients to stimulate participation and awareness of the robust and facilitated program opportunities available.
    • Prepares various business reports. Creates and provides programming Newsletter to Members.
    • Plans and conducts focus group meetings with members.
    • Assists in developing curricula. Determines curricula focus areas, identifies and recruit instructors and coherent programing. Conducts program evaluations.
    • Responsible for meeting deadlines that may require tight turnarounds.
    • Generates new prospects for membership based on connections and networks.
    • Communicates regularly with members and instructors to make FILL an enjoyable and enriching part of their lives.
    • Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum two (2) years recent program coordination experience.
    • Must be a public speaker with excellent oral and creative written communication skills.
    • Technology savvy to include proven experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications, social media including Facebook, and Constant Contact.
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, motivational, and leadership skills.
    • Strong understanding and sensitivity to the perspectives of the Senior Population.
    • Sound use of judgment; Skillful problem-solving ability.
    • Ability to juggle multiple assignments under deadline.
    • Effective multi-tasking and good at prioritizing, working with deadlines and follow-up skills.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and an innate sense of responsibility for delivering quality work.
    • Personable, great with customers in person, over the phone, and through email.
    • Patience and the ability to stay calm and friendly when assisting member, instructors and others.
    • Ability to work independently as well as with others with high character and integrity.
    • Applicants must hold a valid Florida driver’s license.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as light work involving lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities. If someone can do light work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary work, unless there are additional limiting factors such as loss of fine dexterity or inability to sit for long periods of time.

To perform this job successfully, the employee must possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Additionally, all employees of the College are expected to maintain professional standards of communication, able to learn and apply new technology, and abide by all policies and procedures. Continued employment remains on an “at-will” basis.

    Flexibility to work occasional evenings and assist with FILL, School of Continuing Education/IRSC events;

    This position will require flexible work hours as well as occasional travel.
