Contracts Administration Manager prepares and administers bids, proposals, and commercial and government contracts that follow company policies and legal requirements. Manages the contracts administration staff and guides compliance with complex contractual and regulatory requirements. Being a Contracts Administration Manager negotiates with suppliers, partners, or customers. Ensures contracts are administered and monitored to maintain compliance with the terms of agreements. Additionally, Contracts Administration Manager has a strong understanding of the contract life cycle, types of contracts, and applicable government regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Sometimes requires certification like the NCMA Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM). Typically reports to a director. The Contracts Administration Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Contracts Administration Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Summary
    The Contract Manager reviews all School of Medicine contractual agreements and other legal documents flowing through the OPSCA. This position reviews contracts for completeness, and analyzes contract language to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with School of Medicine, University, state, and federal policies and regulations. Consults with departments and/or leadership, and ensures that department administrators have understanding of operational obligations; and drafts, negotiates, and finalizes agreements in accordance with law, policy, within approved parameters.

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
    Mid-career with Masters and 1-2 yrs experience; or Bachelors and 2-4 yrs experience

    Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
    Knowledge and familiarity with a broad range of agreement types, contract principals, and law and regulations. Must be able to communicate with all levels of management and provide consultation, expertise, and to develop and recommend solutions. Excellent written communication ability, with strong attention paid to spelling and grammar. Must be highly detail oriented. Experience with Microsoft Office software.

    Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
    Experience in contract review and management preferred.
