Contracts and Estimation Specialist

The Contracts and Estimation Specialist will prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. By studying blueprints, specifications, or related documents, the specialist will identify labor, material, and time requirements. The specialist will calculate costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. The specialist will enter orders when received after comparing them to the quote.
The successful candidate will need:

- To review and evaluate cost estimates
- To review and evaluate FAR, DFARs, and Special Notes referenced on the RFP/RFQ to ensure compliance with expected contracts
- To communicate with team members regarding new and current projects
- Prepare estimates for all products to be manufactured for team approval
- Reviews customer-specific requirements during the quote stage and ensures awarded purchase orders match what was quoted
- Ensure timely completion of all estimates
- Solicit pricing from vendors and suppliers for raw materials and outside services
- Review contract awards to verify they match the quote and disseminate those requirements to the appropriate departments
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to read blueprints and plans to develop cost estimates.
- Strong understanding of machining and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
- Understanding of geometric tolerances and the impact on manufacturing cost is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel or equivalent.
- Able to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
