Controller leads and directs an organization's accounting functions. Establishes and maintains the organization's overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies. Being a Controller directs all analysis and reporting of financial information including budgets, planning, and required filings and reports. Presents findings and recommendations to management. Additionally, Controller requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically requires the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential. Typically reports to chief financial officer (CFO). The Controller manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business. Job Description:
Purpose: The Controller will further STI’s mission and support STI in achieving our financial goals through both hands-on and strategic accounting and finance duties to ensure the integrity and compliance of our accounting and finance functions. As an early stage hire in our business, the Controller will support in all levels of accounting and financial duties. The Controller must support in additional areas, as needed, such as contracts management, procurement, proposals, pricing, financial IT, etc.

Working Conditions: Confidentiality Required. General office or remote work environment. Position requires mobility and prolonged sitting and standing; requires flexible working hours. Travel could be required up to 25%.
Compensation: $160,000 – $185,000 salary is available for the right candidate.
Work Location: Remote with hiring preference for Sault Saint Marie, Michigan; Denver, Colorado Metro Area; Atlanta, GA Metro Area; or Washington, DC Metro Area.
