    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

    General Responsibilities

    • Works with the CFO to ensure that financial statements are accurate and fairly report results of operation.
    • Make recommendation to CFO concerning means of reducing hospital operating costs and increasing revenues, based on knowledge or market trends, financial reports, and operating procedures.
    • Assists facility department managers with the analysis and interpretation of their department financial statements so that they can reflect and explain variances from previous periods and budgets
    • Assists facility department managers in preparing hospital budget based on past, current, and anticipated expenditures and revenues.
    • Evaluates general accounting and patient accounting procedures to plan and implement procedures for insuring timely receipt of payment on patient accounts, reducing costs of accounting operations, and expediting flow of work.
    • Ascertains that hospital policies are adhered to
    • Develops contacts outside of the hospital with persons important to the hospital’s fiscal operations.
    • Supports and promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values; adheres to all hospital policies and procedures; commits to the Standards of Conduct; maintains professional appearance.

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Prepares assigned journal entries during monthly closing process.
    • Reconciles balance sheet accounts monthly.
    • Reconcile bank operating and payroll cash accounts; approves Positive Pay exceptions daily.
    • Reviews Accounts Payable disbursements for coding and approval
    • Reviews Payroll Employee Change Forms for correct input into system
    • Gathers and prepares hospital and clinic statistics for the monthly close file.
    • Prepares hospital AR Accountants report during monthly closing process. Follows-up with business office for accounts needing resolution.
    • Prepares and submits monthly and quarterly state and federal payroll tax returns
    • Assists in preparation of annual DSH survey
    • Completes assigned work papers for Annual and Interim Cost Reports
    • Completes assigned work papers for Annual Financial Audit.
    • Reconciles facility fixed assets and related accumulated depreciation accounts.
    • Serve as liaison for payor credentialing between facility and Practice Worx.
      • Supports and promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values; adheres to all hospital policies and procedures; commits to the Standards of Conduct; maintains professional appearance.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent work experience
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy and compassion
    • Excellent computer and communication skills.
    • Effective communication skills, including active listening, writing, speaking and reading comprehension
    • Good collaboration and teamwork skills
    • Fast and adaptive problem-solving abilities
    • Keen attention to detail
    • Follow all established Federal, State and Local rules, regulations and guidelines.
