Description
To help develop, implement, manage, and track production equipment changes to make improvements that increase efficiency and quality levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Investigate new designs and implement that into original equipment
- Design, specify, implement electrical controls for the entire plant including schematics/programming
- Design and update PLC programs for all of the plant equipment
- Provide support to others for projects and preventive maintenance
- Provide support to Manufacturing for problem resolution and equipment improvements
- Work with outside equipment suppliers and vendors to effectively communicate company standards
- Investigate and research new developments in the electronic / electrical technology fields, and provide interface back to the organization of potential applications
- In conjunction with others, develop, plan and implement robotics solutions for productivity and labor improvements
- Programming and interface of complex robotic systems
- Troubleshooting robotics systems and applications
- Performs periodic backups/PM’s
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED TRAINING, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE
- 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or an equivalent field
- 3-5 years of experience in control design and programming
- 3-5 years of experience in robotic programming. (Fanuc, Epson, Mitsubishi, ABB, Kuka)
- 3-5 years of integration of vision systems to robotic industrial cells
- Proficient programming Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, and others
- Proficient use of Teledyne, Keyence, Cognex
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS
- Office environment with noise
- Factory environment with noise from manufacturing processes
- Exposure to moving equipment, parts, and electrical shock, as well as being exposed to possible burns from die castings. Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment
- Sometimes lifts, carries, or moves objects weighing up to 50 pounds and daily up to 25 pounds
