Rocha Controls is a full-service company specializing in supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, computer networks, programmable logic controller (PLC) systems, telemetry, instrumentation and variable frequency drive and motor control center installations. We are seeking a self-motivated and effective Field Service Technician to support our operations.
The Field Service Technician will work with an experienced team of electrical engineers/designers, programmers and shop technicians who specialize in public works and private client projects for water treatment facilities and industrial processes. Experience in the water treatment industry preferred.

Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma, Associates Degree or Equivalent training / experience in a related field
- Fluent skills in AC/DC electrical circuits and plant controls. Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment
- Ability to work from drawings and instruction manuals. Ability to read and understand schematics and P&ID drawings.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of electricity, electrical safety, circuits, control, equipment, electrical and instrumentation schematics
- Experience with a strong range of instrumentation and calibration equipment
- Experience with PLC, pneumatic control valves and systems, basic electronics, motor control systems and process control systems
- Ability to read meters, gauges, or automatic devices to record data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, pressure, and fluid levels, water chemistry to verify operating conditions.
- Ability to perform annual instrument calibrations as part of the electrical and instrumentation team. Ability to properly use electrical test equipment and other similar tools.
- Good oral and written communication skills and organizational skills
- Good computer skills such as MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel etc.)
- Ability to work well with others and be self-directed, as well as apply creative solutions to unique I&C problems is desirable
- Willing to work overtime and on weekends as needed
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
· Operates a motor vehicle to respond to service requests at various locations statewide
Field Technician Job Responsibilities
- Performs corrective and preventive maintenance, non-routine repair, modification, troubleshooting, calibration, removal and installation of PLC type control panels
- Tests and calibrates electronic equipment such as Flow Meters, Level Transmitters, and Pressure Transmitters using established test procedures.
- Utilizes various schematics, blueprints, wire lists, equipment manuals, and other resources.
- Maintains records of work performed; develops documentation for the installation, maintenance, calibrating, removal and modification of electronic systems and equipment.
- Advises and assists staff, management, and others on operating problems involving electronic equipment.
- Inspects, maintains, and repairs supervisory control and remote-control equipment, instrumentation, and control equipment, radio and network communication systems, access, and control, security systems, closed-circuit television, telemetering, protective relays, meters, backup power supply and battery systems

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
