Cooking Assistant prepares raw ingredients for use in recipes. Washes, chops, stores, and handles ingredients. Being a Cooking Assistant prepares portions of ingredients for workstations. May prepare sauces and garnishes or assist cook with basic recipes. Additionally, Cooking Assistant follows all applicable guidelines and regulations for food handling and safety. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Cooking Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. iCook After School is an innovative educational company that provides a really fun, hands-on after-school cooking and steam education program for children age K-4. The focus of the program is to enrich the lives of children by teaching them to love everything about food – cooking, eating delicious and healthful dishes, and learning about different cultures and stories behind the food. We also aim to introduce art and science concepts through fun and engaging projects provided by the iSTEAM curriculum.
