Cooking Assistant prepares raw ingredients for use in recipes. Washes, chops, stores, and handles ingredients. Being a Cooking Assistant prepares portions of ingredients for workstations. May prepare sauces and garnishes or assist cook with basic recipes. Additionally, Cooking Assistant follows all applicable guidelines and regulations for food handling and safety. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Cooking Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Full-Time Wedding and Corporate Event Planner
Fast pace, busy family-run business is looking for a new member to join our event team and help craft gorgeous galas, events and weddings! Join our team and help be a part of extraordinary and delicious celebrations!
This is a full-time position with PTO, paid holidays, optional health insurance and 401k with match*.
Mutually agreeable flexible hours, however, the ability to work nights and weekends is a must. This is an in-office or at an event site position. Extremely limited opportunity to work remotely. While a schedule will be set weekly, you must also be able to adjust within reason based on the needs of clients.
The job requires a positive attitude, love of creativity, a strong work ethic, great customer service skills, diligent time management and the ability to be physically on your feet for a 12-14 hour event shift. You must also have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and be able to stay organized when working on multiple projects at one time.
The day-to-day duties of this role will rotate between office days, meeting with clients for planning meetings, warehouse reset and prep days, assisting other planners with their events, and leading your own events. You must be able to flexible and roll with a little bit of chaos! You must have a backbone and be able to say, no or suggest other ideas with confidence and a smile on your face and using professional tact. You must have a passion for problem solving and being resourceful!
Previous event experience is a plus, but not required. Food service experience is also a big plus!
