Job purpose

Provides Adversary Brigade exercise design and development scenarios.

Duties and responsibilities

• Support exercise control cells and response cells (Company - Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB),
  • Intelligence Operations Center (IOC), Ops Center, Fires and Effects Coordination Center (FECC), etc.).
  • Provide support for Formal Learning and exercises that MCTOG leads or participates in.
  • Develop, coordinate, synchronize, and manage Master Scenario Event List (MSELs) during training exercise execution.
  • Provide coaching, teaching and mentoring to response cell personnel IOT familiarize personnel with systems, processes and scenarios.
  • Submit key insights, lessons learned, and best practices after each exercise.
• Operate higher control staff functions during exercise at MEB/Div level
  • Higher Headquarters Naval Integration support.
• Conduct Scenario briefings for exercise participants prior to the commencement of the exercise and throughout the exercise as needed to support the flow of the exercise.
• Provide exercise After Action Reviews (AAR)/Observations, Insights, and Lessons (OIL) to the training audience and MAGTFTC/MCTOG Staff for use in best practices, lessons learned and Trends Reinforcement Reversal Process
  • Conduct AARs/OIL for MAGTF command element, GCE
• Analyze, develop, validate, and document exercise design products for the training audience to meet current training objectives for service specific, joint, and combined exercises across the ROMO.
• Configure, operate, maintain, instruct and train modeling and simulation systems during exercise.
• Generate realistic, challenging, and adaptive adversaries (threat emulation) as defined by current Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff instruction.
  • Research up to TS/SCI level information on identified threat orders of battle up to combined arms army level, and their associated tactics, capabilities, vulnerabilities, and intentions across the range of military operations.
  • Design, develop and adapt sound tactical adversary plans for each specified exercise.
  • Facilitate adversary debriefs and After-Action Reviews (AARs) immediately following exercises MCTOG led or participated in.
  • Subimt key insights, lessons learned, and best practices to the Trends Reversal, Reinforcement Program Manager via established formats and procedures following each exercise.

Qualifications

• MCPP experience
• Writing maneuver annexes/appendices/tabs for division or higher operation orders.
• Experience in developing CONOPS based on adversary TTP.
• Adversary F2T2EA process and targeting methodologies.
• Demonstrate strong grammar and editing skills.
• Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Education

• Required MA/MS in one or more of the following fields:
  • Military History, Modern History, Military Science, Military Studies, Strategic Intelligence, National Security, English.
    • PhD preferred.

Clearance:

• Secret or higher.
