    ScionHealth is recruiting for a VP & Chief Compliance Officer to join our team!  This is a hybrid role that can be based in either our Louisville, Kentucky Support Center or our Franklin / Nashville, Tennessee Support Center.

     

    Job Summary

    The VP & Chief Compliance Officer provides oversight to the enterprise wide ScionHealth Compliance Program focused on preventing, detecting and correcting company and individual conduct that does not meet the standards set forth by the Government in law, regulations and rules and by the Company in its Code of Conduct, policies, procedures and written standards.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve a risk-based compliance program that (1) is effective in preventing, detecting, and correcting non-compliance; (2) builds and sustains a culture of compliance throughout the organization; and (3) satisfies the Government’s standards and expectations for an effective compliance program and applicable compliance program guidance.
    • Provide appropriate assurances and reporting to the Company’s Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer and executive leadership team with respect to the Company’s compliance with laws, regulations, and standards of conduct.
    • Partner with management and operational leaders to put in place, maintain and strengthen operational controls and guardrails around key compliance risk areas to enable the business to be quick, agile, and innovative within the bounds of laws, regulations, and standards of conduct.
    • Develop, maintain and continuously improve policies, procedures and other written standards governing the operation of the Compliance Program.
    • Put in place methods and strategies for monitoring key compliance risk areas, including, i.e., billing and coding compliance, physician arrangements, patient privacy.
    • Oversee root cause analyses and investigations of potential compliance failures; coordinate, as necessary, with the General Counsel with respect to significant or high-impact investigations conducted at the direction of legal counsel.
    • Develop and maintain a strategic training and communication plan to promote awareness of compliance-related obligations, standards of conduct, compliance reporting channels and an overall culture of compliance within the organization.
    • Regularly collaborate with other functions within the organization to effectuate an aligned assurance model.
    • Supervises or serves as the Company’s Chief Privacy Officer.
    • Approximate percentage of time required to travel:  Up to 25%.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree or Juris Doctorate preferred but not required.

    Licenses/Certification

    • Health Care Compliance Association certification (CHC, CHPC, CHC-F) or equivalent certification preferred.

     Experience

    • 12 plus years’ experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a compliance leadership role in the health care industry and a minimum of 3 years' experience managing teams.  Must demonstrate advanced competency in two or more of the following areas:  (1) health care operations; (2) health care transactions; (3) health care regulatory/fraud and abuse; (4) health care investigations/disputes; (5) revenue cycle management; and (6) health care compliance.

     

    Depending on the candidate’s qualifications, this role may be filled at a different level.
