Correctional Officer enforces rules and regulations in a prison, jail or other holding facility. Presides over prisoners awaiting trial or those who have been convicted of a crime. Being a Correctional Officer oversees prisoner conduct and safety. Supervises prisoners during meals, recreation, work and other daily activities. Additionally, Correctional Officer documents violations and takes appropriate disciplinary actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law enforcement, surveillance, and conflict management.
Duties:
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish a security presence.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property.
- Apprehend criminals and evict violators.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in security or law enforcement is preferred.
- Knowledge of CCTV systems and surveillance techniques.
- Ability to handle emergency situations efficiently and effectively.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Strong conflict management skills.
- Understanding of loss prevention strategies.
- Must possess a valid security certificate.
