Correctional Officer, Sr. jobs in Grand Rapids, MI
Correctional Officer, Sr. enforces rules and regulations in a prison, jail or other holding facility. Presides over prisoners awaiting trial or those who have been convicted of a crime. Being a Correctional Officer, Sr. oversees prisoner conduct and safety. Supervises prisoners during meals, recreation, work and other daily activities. Additionally, Correctional Officer, Sr. documents violations and takes appropriate disciplinary actions. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Firearms Certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Correctional Officer, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Hours and shift: 24hrs a week / 2:00pm - 10:30pm / Rotating Weekends
JOB DESCRIPTION
In this role, you will care for an underserved population in a correctional medical environment while working alongside law enforcement to solve problems for our patients and clients. This challenging and rewarding work requires great communication skills, critical thinking, and emotional strength.
REQUIREMENTS
• Currently licensed to practice nursing in state of hire
• Current CPR certification
