Founded in 1918, Okland Construction operates as a regional general contracting and construction management company with now nearly 1,000 employees and growing. It supervises the architectural, engineering, bidding, contracting, building, inspection from the beginning to the end of the project and specializes in concrete self-preform on large commercial scale.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handle all accounting responsibilities associated with assigned construction projects
• Work directly with Finance Director and Assistant Controller on special projects and departmental process improvements
• Set up cost codes and budgeted amounts in accounting system
• Facilitate cost forecasting and budget variance analysis
• Ensure cost is compliant and accurate per client contracts
• Prepare monthly owner billings and follow up on payment
• Process monthly subcontractor billings and payments
• Review and enforce subcontract compliance
• Review and process supplier invoices
• Expense report coding and processing
• Process change orders and issue subcontract supplements
• Attend on-site project review meetings and prepare final financial reports for assigned projects
• Ability to communicate with project managers and employees in the field
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Accounting/Finance preferred) or four years of related experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook (VBA/Access is a plus)
• Experience with Sage Timberline or other accounting information system is a plus but not required
• Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts and theories
• Understanding of cost accounting principles and knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable process
• Keen attention to detail
• Regular, timely, and predictable attendance is required for this position
• Engaging communication skills
