    The Cooler Operations Team is comprised of eight essential functions. These are Logistics (internal/external fleet), Supply Chain, Receiving, Cooling, Warehousing, Shipping, Manufacturing and Facility Maintenance and Engineering. The team is heavily focused on the receiving, cooling, and shipping of product in the shortest amount of time to ensure finished products are handled according to specifications. Along with the efficient movement of goods into and out of the operation, the team supports and manages the Bonifresh manufacturing operations. Functional support areas to these functions are Logistics, Warehousing, Supply Chain, and Maintenance. Combined the Cooler Operations will work together as one to ensure all internal and external customer needs are met in the highest regard for people safety, food safety, quality, and external customer needs.

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The cost analyst position is responsible for the ongoing analysis of agricultural production and harvest costs, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. The cost analyst must also construct and monitor those cost-effective data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Develop budgets, report on and analyze production, distribution and harvesting costs.
    • Coordinate physical inventory and cycle counts, Investigate inventory variances and communicate to operations management.
    • Assist in Month-End Close of the General Ledger. Prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory valuation and inventory roll forward.
    • Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers.
    • Update BOMS and assure proper use and application of costing methodologies.
    • Coordinate with IT department for system issues - maintenance of BOM’s, uploading new year standards, and/or production issues.
    • Assist with product costings, profitability analysis, purchase price variances and material usage variances by item.
    • Financial Analysis of capital projects.
    • Work on special projects as required.
    • Support the Sales Team with cost quoting information
    QUALIFICATIONS:

      
      Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree (Ag Business, Accounting, or Finance) with an excellent academic record.
    • 3 years experience in agricultural accounting or as a cost accountant in a manufacturing/distribution organization
    • Demonstrated experience in using Excel.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as a part of a collaborative team. Ability to prioritize deadlines & projects, including coordinating the efforts of multiple contributors, and establish time frames for completion of projects and assignments.
    • Willingness and ability to embrace and follow the Bonita Packing Co. Employee Handbook. Ability to interact constructively and employees at all levels, upper management, owners, and community members, with diverse personalities and cultures, exercising sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy with an emphasis on flexibility, customer service and professionalism.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing, including effective writing skills to prepare correspondence, various documents and reports, and email with knowledge of correct usage of English language, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
    • Willingness and ability to meet Bonita Packing and department standards for attendance.
        Desired:
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Windows operating systems and related business and communication software and a demonstrated ability to learn and use various campus administrative computing systems and applications including, but not limited to of Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Power BI with the ability to update and expand skills as needed.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of strong verbal communication and negotiation.
    • Strong Cost systems background and excellent analytical skills

Requires a high level of skill in both oral and written communication and the ability to effectively present ideas and information.
    • Technical Skills: Intermediate computer skills including the MS office suite of programs. Ability to analyze financial results and develop ROI information on projects. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines. Strong ability to analyze complex situations and develop/recommend solutions. Knowledge of supply chain tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing, and supply chain issues. Prior experience with distribution management tools like Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Trade Management, MRP, DRP a plus.
