JOB SUMMARY

The Food & Beverage Cost Analyst will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing financial data related to Food and Beverage (F&B), Banquets, and Catering operations. This position will work closely with the F&B Director and collaborate with the Finance Director to ensure accurate financial reporting, cost control, and decision-making within these areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and a deep understanding of F&B cost management.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze F&B, Banquets, and Catering cost structures to identify areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts for F&B, Banquets, and Catering operations. 
• Monitor and report on actual vs. budgeted performance.
• Oversee inventory control processes, including tracking, reconciling, and reporting on F&B inventory levels.
• Implement strategies to reduce waste and optimize inventory turnover.
• Prepare regular cost reports for F&B, Banquets, and Catering, providing detailed insights into cost trends, variances, and recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with culinary and sales teams to assess the profitability of menu items and catering packages.
• Investigate and report on variances between actual and expected costs, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Evaluate vendor contracts, negotiate terms, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of products and services.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal controls in F&B cost management.
• Assist in the month-end closing process, including reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and producing accurate financial statements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related industry
• Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the finance and hospitality professions
• Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities and/or information in a specialized field involving readily available data and indicating logical conclusions and recommendations
