Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Crane Operator to join our team. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of cranes and heavy equipment to lift, move, and position materials and equipment at construction sites or other work locations.
Duties:
- Operate cranes and other heavy equipment such as boom trucks, backhoes, and forklifts
- Lift, move, and position materials and equipment according to project requirements
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on cranes and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries
- Collaborate with other team members to coordinate lifting operations and ensure smooth workflow
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, contractors, and other personnel to understand project requirements and objectives
- Adhere to project schedules and deadlines to meet production goals
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including equipment usage, maintenance performed, and materials lifted
Qualifications:
- Valid crane operator certification / Class B
- Proven experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial setting
- Proficient in the operation of boom trucks, backhoes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to perform routine maintenance on cranes and equipment
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to understand lifting requirements
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception for precise positioning of materials
- Knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
