  • 1. Education: The Credentialing Specialist must be a high school graduate, with an associate degree or higher. Must have executive office skills with at least two years’ experience, knowledgeable of the medical field with special reference to medical staff credentialing process, and knowledge of regulatory standards, excellent computer skills.

    2. Training and Experience: Two years’ experience in the credentialing process with excellent organizational and computer skills. Strong project/process management skills. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills.

    3. Job Knowledge: Must be knowledgeable of the medical field with special reference to medical staff credentialing process and knowledge of regulatory standards.

    4. Safety Sensitive: NO
    In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety sensitive.” A “safety sensitive” position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. Any associate that is actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a “safety sensitive” position.

    DESCRIPTION:
    The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for a timely and compliant credentialing process. He/she must be prepared to advance with changing trends, rules and regulations, and must continually strive for improvement. Able to work independently, yet work as a team member.

    Physical Effort: Works in a well-lighted, air conditioned office. Sits for long periods of time and types on computer. Bending involved when filing.
