Summit Medical Consultants is recruiting for a full time Credentialing specialist to join our growing team. The Credentialing Specialist will manage and maintain internal credentialing files for all clinical staff within our organization, coordinate, complete or submit credentialing to outside vendors including, but not limited to, post acute care facilities and hospital settings. This position will work under the supervision of the Practice Manager. This is a salaried exempt position.
Summit Medical Consultants is a rapidly growing Physician Practice. Founded in 2015, we have expanded to approximately 75 employees and are continuing to grow. If we were a hospital in Colorado, we would rank 9th by number of admissions per year. Our mission is to provide patients and their families with robust clinical services throughout their Acute Inpatient Rehab, Skilled Nursing, Long Term Care and Assisted and Independent Living stays. We coordinate with the Hospitalists and Specialist physicians and surgeons, Physical, Occupational, Speech Therapies, Case Management and Psychiatry at the facility level to provide compassionate and coordinated care.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manages the credentialing process for all Summit Medical Consultant's clinical staff within accordance with guidelines, policies, and standards of our Facilities
Evaluates, analyzes and coordinates all aspects of the credentialing processes for Summit Medical Consultant’s clinical staff at assigned facilities
- Reviews and screens credentialing applications for completeness, accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinates the completion of the provider credentialing applications at assigned facilities
- Ensure distribution, receipt, processing and timely delivery to the appropriate partners.
- Monitors and reports turnaround times for processing of credentialing applications, escalating issues to leadership to ensure completion within required timelines.
- Provides frequent and accurate updates to Leadership on credentialing status at assigned facilities as requested
- Participates in the development and implementation of process improvements for the credentialing process.
- Maintains, troubleshoot and apply for provider access to facility EHR systems
- Manages access to various systems used by the practice as well as at the facility level for providers.
- Track and update company spreadsheets daily, monthly and as needed
- Assist Practice Managers with new provider orientation
- Maintain an accurate and timely account of any outstanding credentialing requests
- Assist Practice Information Coordinator with troubleshooting and tracking of missing provider encounter notes
- Act as a liaison to our facilities Medical Records Directors
- Drive to facilities and/or to other Practice work locations as neededAssist Practice Manager with weekly Rounding schedule and disbursement to facility leadership

- Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years credentialing experience preferably in the post acute setting
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently
- Hybrid work environment - minimum 3-4 days per week in office
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with different levels of leadership
Salary range $50,000-$55,000 annually
