Credentialing Specialist jobs in Norwalk, CT

House of Fins in Greenwich, CT is currently looking to hire an Aquarium Specialist for our Retail & Service Divisions. Daily routine includes duties such as :

• Cleaning and maintaining of freshwater, saltwater, and saltwater reef aquariums.
• Monitoring the health of fish, and medicating as necessary
• Cleaning and maintenance of all filtration components and equipment.
• Testing and maintaining proper water parameters.
• Preparing food portions and feeding fish, invertebrates, and coral
• Assisting customers with their aquariums in a high-end environment

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology or other Environmental Science and / or SEVERAL years experience maintaining personal aquariums.
• Experience with keeping freshwater, marine fish, and invertebrates.
• Applicant must possess a thorough knowledge of disease recognition, daily aquarium husbandry, food preparation, nutrition, and water quality.
• Applicant must have experience working with large life support systems and have basic PVC plumbing skills.
• The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is necessary.

Full-time positions which may include weekends (Retail position to work most weekends, Service position subject to call every 6-8 weekends).
