General Job Description: Under the direct supervision of the Credit & Collections Sr. Manager, this position will be responsible for assisting in overseeing the collection efforts of approximately $36M in accounts receivable balances for ACCO FSG and Sunbelt Controls. The Assistant Manager is also responsible for the supervision of the collections and cash application staff including supervisors, collectors and cash appliers. In addition, the Assistant Manager will work with the Sr. Manager, Credit & Collections regarding collection efforts and setting goals for the department.
Supervises: All collection clerks, Cash Application Clerks, Collection Supervisors
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the collections process for ACCO FSG and Sunbelt Controls.
- Work with collection staff to ensure customers are informed of past due balances by various means including phone calls, emails, past due notices etc.
- Assist Sr. Manager with the resolution of any issues with the field, dispatch or billing processes that are creating collection problems.
- Sign lien releases for Customers to get paid.
- Review aging reports with Credit & Collections Sr. Manager and assist with preparing weekly credit agenda report for collection calls, weekly collections meetings and month end reporting.
- Supervise Cash Team and assist with posting payments within our accounting system in a timely manner.
- Assist in researching and resolving any questions from Corp accounting regarding GL issues, and cash application questions.
- Meet regularly with the collections and cash app team to keep abreast of any issues with collections or cash application.
- Constantly review the Service AR to maintain integrity. This would include un-applying and reapplying cash and credits, approving refunds, etc.
- Assist with customer setups, account activations, new customer credit checks, etc.
- Ability to manage both internal and external customer relationships.
- Help train/mentor all clerks, senior clerks, Leads and Supervisors in their roles and jobs to assist when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by Credit & Collections Sr. Manager.
Position Requirements (Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses, etc.):
- 3-5 years’ experience with customer service and commercial collections required, with strong preference for contracting industry or commercial construction industry experience.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a strong ability to make interpersonal connections with internal employees and external customers.
- Possess the ability to manage heavy workload.
- Knowledge of personal computers including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Competitive Wages:
$102,000 to $105,000 Annual Salary. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others.
