Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Credit Analyst to join our team. As a Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses applying for loans or credit.
Job Functions
· Track documentation, ensuring we have timely and sufficient information on hand, such as tax returns, personal financial statements, etc.
· Communicate with members to collect updated financial information.
· Work closely with commercial lending department to complete underwriting for new loan requests.
· Analysis of financial documents provided as it pertains to loan being requested.
· Perform functions pertaining to MBL Underwriting in Desco’s central lending software program, Suntell. This includes but is not limited to: completing spreads of tax returns and financial statements, entering loan data, and constructing loan presentations.
· Analyze and underwrite member financial condition using metrics such as debt service coverage ratios, loan to value ratios, net worth and liquidity, credit and loan repayment history, etc.
· Prepare written analyses summarizing member financial condition.
· Create loan grading worksheets in excel to determine credit worthiness.
· Pull member credit bureau reports and analyze for credit worthiness
· Assist in performing annual credit reviews of business loan relationships
· Assist Credit Analyst Team in any additional functions that may arise.
Job Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree required. Business/Accounting preferred
· Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
· Experience using Microsoft Office and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
· Effective business writing and communication skills
· Detail-oriented with the ability to spot errors or discrepancies in financial data
